West Midtown Project in the Atlanta Journal Constitution

I am excited to share a first full look at the West Midtown Project townhouse design, as featured in the AJC's Private Quarters column this past weekend! This project has come a long way since my mom moved in, as you can see in the project introduction. The contemporary architecture made a perfect backdrop for her antiques to really stand out, and I always love collaborating with my mom because the result is always a great combination of new and old! You can find a full profile on the house and my mom's favorite elements in the article here. See a tour of the house so far through my lens below, and stay tuned for the master bathroom renovation!
As you may remember, all the beautiful chandeliers in the house are from Hudson Valley Lighting, which I shared in this lighting update, which is a fun throwback to first round of decorating.
I collaborated with Article to find the perfect furniture and decor to finish the living room – read all about the blue Abisko sofa and armchair in my living room update.
This beautiful antique chaise was reupholstered last year with emerald green velvet and blue linen piping.
This space by the staircase features a few favorites from my product studio – the Anatolia maze tufted area rug in Boxwood green, and the Ida No. 4 blue abstract painting.
The kitchen renovation was a really fun project which utilized the leftover wallpaper from my media room as a creative backsplash solution. I worked with Vetrazzo to add gorgeous terrazzo countertops and added this vintage runner from Revival to warm up the space.
The Samsung Frame TV was the perfect solution for the "media loft" above the living room, which I originally decked out last fall with At Home.
I added my new white elephant side table to the loft for a sculptural accent by the barrel back swivel chair. I love the cheerful combination of blue and yellow up here.
My mom kept most of her furniture from the Dove Hill Project master bedroom, but I brought in some color with my pink painting and a custom silk striped pillow for the bed.
Above the vintage area rug hangs a gallery wall of my grandfather's photos he took in New Orleans. I had a new cushion upholstered for the Italian bench with a spotted navy pattern.
In the guest bedroom where my little sister stays when she's home from college, I hand-painted a tropical mural with palm trees to make this room a fun escape.
The guest bathroom got renovated with The Home Depot this year, in which I converted the shower to a small bathtub with custom shower curtains to dress up the small space.
To add visual interest to the entry hall, I lined the wall with large prints from my art print collection on Kevin Francis Design. The battery-operated picture lights are an Amazon find that are so easy to install anywhere! There are still a few updates left to make on the house, and some things have already changed since I took these photos (like the living room curtains)! I hope you enjoy seeing this project tour for the first time.
