Styling a Cozy Fireplace With Holiday Decor

Some of my favorite holiday memories take place around the fireplace in my childhood living room – it’s one of the most cherished symbols of the season for many people. With the help of The Home Depot, I added an electric fireplace to the West Midtown living room to create a cozy centerpiece for holiday decor. The subtle flickering flame on this traditional freestanding fireplace adds visual warmth to the space, with the option of real heat to warm up the room. The traditional white mantel tied easily in with the room design, and provided a surface for bringing Christmas cheer to the room with a wreath, garland, and gold bar cart. This electric fireplace is such an affordable way to give a room an architectural centerpiece. It has a traditional fluted mantel that could easily be painted to match your walls for a more built-in look. There are five brightness levels for the flickering flame, and can be used with or without the heater.   With timer functionality, you can set it to automatically turn off in 30 minutes or up to 9 hours so you don’t have to worry about leaving it on.

 

It’s so much fun to style a fireplace mantel throughout the year, but especially during the holidays it’s the perfect place to build a cheerful vignette. I used a light-up pine garland and wreath, layered on top of one of my own abstract paintings. It looks so elegant with a simple gold ribbon and the classic lanterns with flameless pillar candles.

 

The armchair in this corner provided the perfect place for a soft faux fur throw – and this one blew me away.  It feels so soft, thick, and luxurious! I love the lighter color way and the naturally mottled pattern on the fur. It’s perfect for styling all winter long!

 

On the other side of the fireplace, I set up a gold bar cart with more lanterns and the cutest light-up flocked pine tree. It’s the perfect holiday topper for this cute cart and I love how the flocking gives a little glam to this vignette. It’s so nice to add a versatile piece like a bar cart to the living room for easy  holiday entertaining. Not only can it serve as an entertaining hub, but also another surface to style with holiday decor for a more layered room.
