32” Philippa Gold and Marble Buffet Lamp

The gold Philippa is the warmer half of the pair — the same slender thirty-two-inch column and the same rectangular white and gray marble foot, but finished in a soft gold that picks up whatever brass is already in the room. The tapered metal shade matches, which is what keeps the silhouette clean; there is no break between base and shade, just one long vertical stroke. Opaque metal means the light goes up and down rather than sideways, so these work on a buffet or a bar where a lit linen shade would glare. The marble base is heavy enough to stay put on a polished surface, and the piece looks best used as a pair at either end of a sideboard.
