Inspired by Chinese Art Deco Style

Our design approach draws inspiration from the golden age of Shanghai’s 1920s and 30s, when East met West in an explosion of geometric sophistication. Traditional Chinese symbolism is reinterpreted through the bold, linear vocabulary of Art Deco design, creating an aesthetic that feels simultaneously ancient and modern.

Vacuum regularly using a brushless suction head or the upholstery attachment. For hand-knotted rugs, vacuum in the direction of the pile. Avoid beater bars, which can damage fibers and loosen knots.

Address spills immediately: blot, never rub, with a clean white cloth, working from the outside in. For liquid spills, absorb as much as possible before applying any cleaning solution.

For most stains, mix a small amount of mild dish soap with cool water, apply sparingly with a cloth, then blot with a damp cloth to remove soap residue. Dry thoroughly.

Silk and bamboo silk is particularly delicate. Use Capture dry carpet cleaner for routine cleaning.

Your Personal Cosmology, Woven into Art

Every Talisman rug is a one-of-a-kind commission designed around the celestial and symbolic elements that define you. We incorporate your Western zodiac constellation rendered in geometric Art Deco styling, your ruling planet's symbolic representation, and the birth month flower or flower of your choosing. Your Chinese zodiac animal is artfully integrated into the design, honoring the year of your birth with traditional Art Deco rug design motifs.

Sacred Symbols & Personal Talismans

Select from our collection of auspicious imagery, including traditional Chinese lucky clouds symbolizing good fortune, delicate butterflies representing transformation and joy, and sacred lotus flowers embodying purity and enlightenment. Add your monogram as an elegant centerpiece or subtle border detail, and incorporate meaningful angel numbers—whether 111, 444, 777, or your personal sequence—woven discreetly into the pattern as a daily reminder of divine guidance.

A Palette as Unique as You

Unlike standard luxury rugs, your Talisman piece is colored entirely to your specification. From typical celadon greens and sapphires to soft blush and champagne neutrals, every hue is selected to harmonize with your space and resonate with your energy.

Museum-Quality Craftsmanship

Hand-knotted by master artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations, each rug features 100% premium New Zealand wool prized for its exceptional durability, lustrous finish, and ability to hold rich, complex colors. The high knot count ensures crisp detail in even the most intricate symbolic elements, while the thick pile texture creates a luxurious foundation that grounds your most important spaces.

The Chinese Art Deco Difference

Our design approach draws inspiration from the golden age of Shanghai's 1920s and 30s, when East met West in an explosion of geometric sophistication. Traditional Chinese symbolism—dragons, peonies, cloud motifs, and celestial imagery—is reinterpreted through the bold, linear vocabulary of Art Deco design. The result is an aesthetic that feels simultaneously ancient and modern, honoring heritage while speaking to contemporary sensibilities.

Custom Sizing for Your Space

Available in any size to perfectly suit your room, from intimate meditation spaces to grand living rooms and dining areas. Standard sizes range from 6'x9' to 10'x14', with fully custom dimensions available upon request.

The Commission Process

Your Talisman rug journey begins with an in-depth design consultation where we discuss your birth details, symbolic preferences, color vision, and the room where your rug will reside. We create detailed renderings for your approval, allowing you to refine every element before production begins. The weaving and finishing process takes approximately 3-4 months, depending on size and complexity, ensuring each knot is placed with intention and care.

Made to Order

Each Talisman rug is created exclusively for you. Production begins only after design approval, ensuring your piece is truly one-of-a-kind.

Care & Maintenance

Vacuum regularly using a brushless suction head or the upholstery attachment. For hand-knotted and hand-tufted rugs, vacuum in the direction of the pile. Flatweaves can be vacuumed on both sides. Avoid beater bars, which can damage fibers and loosen knots.

Address spills immediately: blot—never rub—with a clean white cloth, working from the outside in to prevent spreading. For liquid spills, absorb as much as possible before applying any cleaning solution.

For most stains, mix a small amount of mild dish soap with cool water, apply sparingly with a cloth, then blot with a damp cloth to remove soap residue. Dry thoroughly with fans or open windows to prevent mildew.

Avoid: hot water (sets protein stains), bleach, and harsh chemicals.

Silk and bamboo silk is particularly delicate. For routine cleaning and spot treatment, use Capture dry carpet cleaner—the dry compound absorbs soil and oils without introducing moisture that can damage silk fibers. Sprinkle lightly, work gently with a soft brush, and vacuum away.

Size & Fit
Living Rooms

All legs on: Use a rug large enough for all furniture to sit fully on it.
Front legs on: Front legs of sofas and chairs rest on the rug while back legs remain on the floor.

Dining Rooms

Allow 24-30 inches beyond all sides of the table so chairs remain on the rug when pulled out. For a 42"x72" table, you'd need at least a 9'x12'.

Bedrooms

Under the bed: The rug should sit under the lower two-thirds of the bed, extending at least 18-24 inches on each side and at the foot.

Distance from Walls

Leave 12-18 inches of floor exposed between the rug edge and walls for proper proportion. In smaller rooms, 8-10 inches is acceptable.
