When designing the living room for the Westover Place Project, I wanted to establish a classic foundation that felt both timeless and inviting. The goal was to create a space with that spunky-traditional style I love—pieces with elegant silhouettes and quality craftsmanship that would stand the test of time.
For the seating, I chose a best-selling floral embroidered armchair and a dreamy down-filled linen cloud sofa that invites you to sink right in. I paired these with elegant gold nesting coffee tables that add a touch of glamour without overwhelming the space. The entire arrangement sits atop my Dede floral hand-knotted area rug, whose pattern beautifully echoes the embroidered florals on the armchair. A pair of light wood bookshelves flanking the window complete the cozy reading nook. Take a look at this classic living room transformation below.
Before & After

Floral Embroidered Armchair

I love this floral armchair because it's classic while still being a fun statement piece. The embroidered floral fabric adds so much character and texture to the room. The chair is generously deep and fairly wide, making it perfect for curling up in the corner with a book. The proportions meant we couldn't fit two by the windows as originally planned, but the single chair creates an intimate reading nook that feels just right.
One lovely detail: the chair comes with optional fringe trim that velcros underneath the base. I love how the tassels add that extra traditional touch—just note that they may need a little steaming or combing to look their best after shipping.
Down-Filled Linen Cloud Sofa

This down-filled linen sofa feels like a true luxury upgrade from the many "cloud sofa" dupes flooding the market. The timeless silhouette features linen slipcover upholstery in the most perfect warm off-white, and the down cushions are absolutely dreamy to sink into at the end of a long day.
A few things to note: the sofa base is actually two pieces, and with the generous size of the cushions, it functions best as a two-seater. As with any down-filled seating, the cushions benefit from regular turning and fluffing to keep the feathers evenly distributed. There's minimal feather shedding, which is always a concern with down. Overall, I really love the luxury details—from the elegant flange edge on the cushions to the beautiful weight of the linen upholstery. It's the kind of sofa that looks beautiful and only gets more comfortable with time.

Brass Nesting Coffee Tables

These gold nesting coffee tables are the perfect finishing touch for this living room. The warm brass finish complements the traditional furnishings while the nesting design offers flexibility—pull them apart when entertaining or tuck them together for a cleaner look. Styled with books and fresh flowers atop my Dede rug, they bring just the right amount of polish to the space.
