The Jefferson Street Project Reveal

Since June of 2020, I've been working on a first home for the sweetest newlywed couple in Atlanta, and I'm so excited to share a first look at the design. After moving from an apartment to this three-bedroom house, they started with a great foundation of essential furniture and brought me in to pull the whole home together with a coherent vision. I had so much fun working with this couple and getting to know them and their style and love how this fresh, contemporary design came together.

It was an honor to paint a custom abstract painting for the home's entryway, which provides a moment of dramatic dark gray contrast in this bright double-story space. For an impactful moment of color, we added a vintage area rug. The arched floor mirror reflects extra light, and clean white pleated curtains soften the room.

The dining room is the only room I had them paint because it really helps to define this space and make it feel extra special. The dark blue provides a really classic pairing with the white chair rail and the pops of gold warm up the cool tones. The modern chandelier is like a piece of jewelry in here, and the border on the curtains gives them a crisp tailored look that's perfect for this space. Underfoot I chose a very subtle tonal area rug to lighten the floor.

In the open-floorplan living room, kitchen, and breakfast room, medium-toned woods and a few key moments of blues and greens bring the space to life while keeping it bright and open. The living room features a high-contrast gallery wall with fabulous origami artwork that energizes this space, and a large coffee table styled with lots of coffee table books. The velvet tiger lumbar pillows are one of my favorite details in here.

In the breakfast room, a linear chandelier spans the table and a chinoiserie-style paper tapestry brings the corner to life. It has turned out to be the most talked-about piece in their house and is the perfect old-world accent to contrast the contemporary living space. You can find many similar tapestries here.

I convinced my clients to go bold in their guest powder room and it really paid off! This fabulous is part of Hygge & West's collection with Tilton Fenwick. It's the perfect complement to the navy vanity and the gold accents in the space like the mirror and cute sconce.

The master bedroom is a serene retreat, with a pale blue accent wall behind the bed. This subtle color (Light Drizzle by Behr) adds depth to the large space and ties in perfectly with the blue fringe border curtains on the along the row of windows. I love how these soften the architecture of the room and also bring in that color.

Blue accents continue in the master bathroom design, where I added another custom roman shade from The Shade Store above the soaking tub, and lucite hardware to the navy vanity. We swapped the wall mirror for a pair of extra-tall framed mirrors that unfortunately didn't make this shot. In front of the vanity is a vintage Turkish rug I sourced on Etsy to bring some aged character to the space.

The styled out the guest bedroom with a washable area rug from Revival's Recess Collection and my green abstract painting above the bed. You might recognize these table lamps, which I bought for both this project and the bedroom in Terrace Drive Project – I love their height and unexpected texture.

I had so much fun working on this project and am so grateful to my amazing clients for trusting me with their new home!
