When it comes to travel, design always makes a destination more exciting – and I've always admired Proper Hotels for pushing hospitality design to the next level. Each one is designed by the venerable Kelly Wearstler, who infuses each property with a dose of local spirit and her signature statement style. Whether you're staying at their San Francisco location, which overlooks the city's iconic cable cars, or the Santa Monica property, which has a chic, beachy look, each hotel is full of design inspiration. Moreover, their table and chair rentals stand out and create an aesthetic appeal in the lobbies and other common areas. And with locations in other destination cities like Austin, there's a unique vibe for each property. The brand just opened a new location in Downtown LA (such a cool, upcoming area) and it inspired me to pull together some of my favorite moments from their portfolio.
