Shadow Play: Warm Gray for a Primary Bedroom

I recently partnered with Behr Paint to bring a much-needed layer of depth and dimension to the primary bedroom in West Midtown Project, featuring their Gratifying Gray paint color. I used the newly-released Behr Dynasty paint line, which is their highest-quality product featuring one-coast coverage with the best scuff and stain protection. I was definitely impressed by the performance of the paint, which made it super easy to cover these walls in just one weekend. I've always thought that artwork looks so much better on a wall with a bit of color, so I was really excited to see the impact of this soft, warm gray on the walls in here. I definitely think it helped level-up the space, and gave the artwork a more sophisticated backdrop. Along with a few new additions, including a subtler ceiling fan, ivory nightstand, and navy lamps, this bedroom feels much more "done" with these impactful changes.

I love how this warm gray paint ended-up matching the silk curtains I installed last year perfectly. It blends so beautifully with the drapery, vintage rug, and the black-and-white photography on this wall. These images were actually taken by my grandfather in New Orleans – over 50 years ago!

I love the combination of warm gray and pale pink – it's a really inviting palette that is complemented so well by the cooler pops of blue. These sculptural lamps added just enough funky flair flanking the bed (one of the most asked-about pieces in here) and the new nightstand adds lots of functional storage.
