Before & After: A Bistro-Inspired Breakfast Nook
March 30, 2023 - Written by Kevin O'Gara
I recently helped my client update the kitchen in their historic 1920's home in Ansley Park, Atlanta. Given the age of the house, the kitchen is fairly small, and while the long-term plan is to fully renovate the space, our goal for this update was to refresh the room on a modest budget to make it more stylish and functional. I specified new checkerboard flooring (easily installed over the existing vinyl), layered roman shades, an eat-in dining nook, a lantern light fixture, and a new fridge with cohesive finishes. Inspired by the beautiful Farrow & Ball Cornforth White, I took a tonal approach using a variety of beiges and light-wash wood, with bistro-inspired woven dining chairs to add a French flair.
