Refreshing Blue & White Bedroom Makeover

This project was produced in partnership with AllModern.

Meghan's bedroom in her new apartment is the first room I redesigned, and we are off to an amazing start in here with the help of AllModern decor... This new room design is providing the most refreshing inspiration for the rest of her apartment. It's light and bright with a soothing color palette but stays cozy with an infusion of classic feminine style. Meghan is a modern girl but appreciates traditional style, so this room is the perfect reflection of her old-meets-new spirit.

After painting the space with Behr Swiss Coffee on the walls and Waterfall light blue on the ceiling, doors, and fireplace, it feels SO soothing in here. I also incorporated a faux fireplace mantel by painting the wall above the fireplace, and it draws your eye up the wall making the space feel taller and brings the pretty blue hue down into the room to connect it with the pretty floral curtains. See the whole room reveal below!

Meghan's desk and chair were existing, but I love how focused this little corner becomes with just layers of warm white to create a simple, no-distractions workspace. With the table lamp on at night, all the creamy white just glow with the coziest golden glow!

This sculptural mirror is absolutely perfect for the room and I love how it's unique shape is reminiscent of a sunburst mirror – but with a floral twist. It adds a touch of gold to warm up the surrounding blue, and provides a hint of reflection as a focal point for the room (remember when I said every room needs a mirror?)!

I just love how the floral curtains frame the beautiful view out the window. Curtains always soften up a space, so they are so key in the bedroom, and I love how these have a crisp white background to make them feel a bit more contemporary.

The giraffe lamp steals the show on the nightstand! It's such a fun piece and the perfect playful accent on this side of the room. It's the warmest gold and the right size to balance the proportions of the four-poster bed.

I knew the room needed something warm to balance the cool blue on the ceiling. This rug is the perfect counterpoint, and layers perfectly on the carpeting to bring a touch of warmth without overwhelming the space. With a traditional Oriental-style pattern, it gives another traditional touchpoint to the space to strike a balanced mix.
